Calgary winters are hard on interiors in their own way — months of dry furnace air open up cracks along trim and seams, and north-facing rooms stay dim most of the day. We paint interiors for that reality: cracks get filled, seams get caulked, and colours are checked in your actual light before a lid comes off.
Our standard repaint system is two finish coats over a properly prepared surface — washed, patched and primed first — unless the written coating specification for your project calls for something different. Edges are cut in by hand. When we leave, the furniture is back where it was and the room is a room again, not a job site to clean up.
What's included
- Walls — the whole room, not just the easy surfaces.
- Ceilings, trim and doors are selectable add-ons — they only join your price when they are written into your scope.
- Furniture moved to the centre and covered; floors, fixtures and hardware protected. Everything goes back where it was.
- Surface prep: washed, patched, sanded, caulked and spot-primed — the unglamorous part that decides how long the paint lasts.
- Two finish coats over the prepared surface, edges cut in by hand — our standard repaint system, unless your written coating spec says otherwise.
- Washable finishes where hands land: hallways, kitchens, kids' rooms.
- Tidy-up at the end of every day, and a final walkthrough with you before we call it done. GST is the only thing added on top of your written price.
What's not included
- Moving pianos, safes, wall-mounted TVs or anything that needs more than two careful people — we plan around them with you instead.
- Wallpaper removal and skim-coating — quoted separately when the walls need it, never folded quietly into your price.
- Electrical, plumbing or carpentry work. If we find damage behind the paint, we flag it in writing before touching anything.
- Painting inside closets, cabinets or appliances unless it's in the written scope.
How the job runs
- Walkthrough & written scope
We look at every surface, talk through colours and sheen, and put the full scope in writing — what's painted, what's protected, what it costs.
- Colour & sheen confirmation
Samples go on your walls in your light. Nothing is final until you've seen it dry — screens lie, walls don't.
- Protection
Furniture to the centre, covered; floors masked; fixtures and hardware protected or removed.
- Prep
Wash, fill, sand, caulk, prime. Most of the labour on a repaint lives here, and it's where rushed jobs cut corners.
- Paint
Two finish coats, cut in by hand, rolled evenly. One room finished before the next starts, so your house stays livable.
- Walkthrough
We walk every wall with you in daylight and fix anything you spot on the spot.
What happens at the on-site visit?
Products & coating specification
Our standard is two finish coats of quality interior paint over a properly prepared surface. If the manufacturer's data sheet for your project calls for something different — a specific primer system, an extra coat, a longer recoat window — the data sheet wins, and it's written into your scope.
The exact products are named on your written estimate, matched to the surface and how the room is used: scrubbable finishes for hallways and kids' rooms, moisture-resistant systems for bathrooms, low-odour options where that matters to you. Sheen is chosen the same way — by formulation, ventilation, substrate and use, not by a rule of thumb. Modern matte and flat paints formulated for bathrooms exist and perform well; what matters is the product's washability and moisture rating for that spot.
Paint is bought for your job, and the leftover is labelled and left with you for future touch-ups.
Typical timeline
A single room: usually one to two days. A few rooms: two to four days. A full main floor: about a week. You get an agreed start window and a day-by-day plan in writing before we start — never a guess on the phone.
Drying time between coats follows the product's data sheet, not our schedule. In a Calgary January that can mean extra ventilation time — we plan for it instead of rushing it.
How pricing works
We don't publish a fixed price list — a fixed list would be fiction, because prep condition is most of the labour, and nobody can see your walls from a price list. See a preliminary range online; the firm price is confirmed after sufficient photos or a visit.
Answer a few questions in the estimator and get a preliminary range in about a minute. It's a range on purpose: simple projects can often be finalized from good photos; larger or uncertain scopes need a free site visit. Either way, you get a firm price in writing before anything starts.
What moves the number: the condition of the existing paint, how much furniture and masking the rooms need, ceiling height and access, and the finish level you choose. Every job respects our $500 minimum charge — a small scope is still a real job. GST is added on top, and the approved price stays fixed unless you approve a written change to the scope.

Common questions
Do I need to move my furniture?
We move standard furniture and wall décor, cover it, and put it back when the paint is dry — you don't need to empty rooms. Please take down valuables, electronics and fragile or irreplaceable items yourself; anything too heavy or delicate to move safely, we paint around with you.
Can we stay in the house while you paint?
Yes. We finish one area before starting the next, tidy up daily, and use low-odour products where it matters to you.
What sheen should I pick for the bathroom?
It depends on the product, not just the sheen name. Matte and flat paints formulated for bathrooms exist and perform well — what matters is washability and moisture resistance for that specific spot. We confirm the exact product and sheen with you at the estimate, and there's a guide on sheen choice linked below.
How do we pick colours?
Try the colour studio on this site with a photo of your own room, or shortlist from our palette stories. The final call happens with physical samples on your wall in your light.
What paint do you use?
Quality interior paints matched to each surface — the exact products are named on your written estimate before you approve anything. No mystery cans.
